A Christmas Poem

And now it's time to think of Christmas, and all that that entails,
With excited children, lots of presents, carols and winter tales.
And if it snows and robins fly, then all will be so fine
Lots of food with nuts and fruit and drinks of hot mulled wine

We’ll decorate the Christmas tree and hang up pretty things
And sing of shepherds, angels on high, manger's
 and The Three Kings
I’ll put up Holly around the house, not forgetting the mistletoe
Light up a welcoming roaring fire and listen to the North wind blow,
So soon comes Christmas eventide, small children are put to bed
And later we’ll climb the creaking stairs, shoes off, and softly tread
But first the presents around the tree now everything is set
I’ll sit and read my bank account and wonder about my debt,
Not only that, my credit card is busting at the seams
While innocent ones sleep peacefully indulging in their dreams.

So now it's Christmas day at last, the children are awake
The turkeys in, the cake is made, there’s nothing more to bake.
Let’s celebrate the birth of Christ on this cold winters day
I wish all dreams you have come true and send happiness your way.

Tickle me

Tickle my fancy come play with me
Hug me squeeze me come sit upon my knee
Make me tingle lets have a fling
Stir my emotions make me Zing
kiss my neck and whisper softly
all the things you want to do with me
Take me to Rome wine and dine me then take me home
wrap me in lace and Broderie Anglaise
Bath me in milk and polyurethane foam
Fly me to Rio lets dance in the streets
Make love to me neath silken black sheets
Tell me you love me in french and Italian
Call me a puppy dog and then a white stallion
So tickle me baby let's have a fling

The Magic Wood

My love and I sat and watched the firefly’s shine
I gave her a garland of leaves for her hair
She promises always to be mine
She was my sweetheart Claire
It was in the magic wood that I, Gave my heart to her
She smiled so sweet and took it
No sound I heard, no trees did stir
In every boys heart, there is a place
Just like the magic wood
Where secret things and fairy rings, and stuff none understood
In that moment of time I gave my heart away
And the firefly’s shone as she looked upon
My heart and her magic leaves bouquet

Raindrops

Listen to the rain, fall upon the flower petal
Then bounce right back down, to the soil
And finally there to settle
Feeding the ground, with its life given power
Until the time comes, for another shower
See the flowers colour, to attract the honeybees
See the rain a-falling, upon their gentle wings
Refreshing up the colours as pollen flies upon the breeze
Listen to the gentle rain and see all that it brings
Feel the crispness beneath your feet
To smell the freshness of the mornings air sweet
See the Deer play happily
Watch the foxes dart around the tree
Make the first frosty footprint in the snow
Feel the first autumn breezes blow
To be alive on this autumn morn
To see the rabbits with their new-born
This is my wealth, this with my health
What more could I want, I would tell you true
What more could I ask for than to share all this just with you

Who am I?

The tail of a single cloud fades into the blue sky
As I gaze into the emptiness I wonder
Who am I?

The single continuing note of the skylark cries untiringly
Again I utter a sigh
Who am I?

Fluttering as if standing still, the Yellow-winged Darter dragonfly
Hovers nearby
His wings appear still as if he is hung by a tie
And then whoosh, he is gone in the blink of an eye
Not even wishing me a fond goodbye

The sun beats hot on this day in July
Making the earth feel warm, on the spot where I lie
All is good, as I drink the flask dry
And take another slice from my Apple pie
A busy bee flys by, I bet he never asks
Who am I?

A walk with nature on an October morn

I wake to touch the October morning chill
The early dew glistens in the mornings hue; it softens the low mist that abounds
A fox scurries away after his night of slaughter
Whilst mushrooms make their early morning rounds, only to disappear before the dew dries

As the day takes over from the dawn
Crows proclaim their territory and squabble with the rooks
The last murmurs of the morning chorus end its melodious run
A field mouse hurries away and awaits to coming of the warming sun
This October morn sends a shiver down my spine, its beauty personified by its stillness
My breath fogs the air like a puff of smoke that mingles with the early morning mist
Only to lose its authority to the surrounding break of day haze

Crunching sounds of each step echos on the frosty grass, leaving a first impression
The only clue that I had walked this way before
Soon many will follow to hide my trace, as in my life, my achievements are marred by those more worthy of recognition
October morn I cry out to you: Be my inspiration, and warm me with your promise of the day-ahead

Too soon I will bewail your passing, too soon will Mother Nature cast her winter cloak
But I know you will return once again to thrill me with your splendour
I will awake once more to touch your morning chill

Wednesday

I will prevail

I fight you, my foe, each day, but you will never win
For in the end I will prevail
Like an outstretched fist you grasp my every tissue
Bit by bit, you tear each one, rejoicing in my pain
You hold me locked in your bastion of hurt
Tied to the slab of torture
Each turn of the screw drives me into a new degree of anguish
Oh, pain why do you haunt me so?
Each day I try to escape from the hold you have over me
But your grip and clasp hold my body like a spider holds its prey
Must I endure your power over me for ever? Will I ever be free?
Or do I go to my grave with you still clinging to my every fibre
Oh, pain why do you haunt me so?
I fight tirelessly with the wounds you inflict upon me
Until I am free, for free I will be, I too am resolute with dark hopes
For to give in to your
unending torment, is to lay beside the hand of death

into the depths of your mind

Your eyes have an enchantment that is pulling me into the depths of your mind
They play with my psyche until I know not where I am, lost in the inner sanctum of your soul
Why do you amuse yourself with me so? Am I not a man with a mind of my own? Can I not control my own destiny?

You toy with my heart, a heart I have no control of, lost in turmoil, in a world of despair
Take me now and crush me without faltering for I am not worthy to gaze once more into the pleasure that is your eyes
