I met her at the carnival, encircled by her cloak of camouflage
Was it to hide her from the eyes of strangers, or was there another reason?
In a way, she had an air of attractiveness that was pulling me closer.
As she intermingled with the crowd I felt a strong urge to follow,
The clamour and reverberation of the carnival increased to a fever pitch
I could feel my heart pounding with the beat of the drums they seem to get faster and louder
At one moment I thought I had lost her, but then I caught a glimpse of her studded sombrero
And closed in, the pounding of the drums, were having the same effect on the rest of the crowd
It seemed as if the whole throng were swaying with the music, and then she was gone
All I was left with was the memory of the lady with the mask and the studded sombrero.
