Who am I?

The tail of a single cloud fades into the blue sky
As I gaze into the emptiness I wonder
Who am I?

The single continuing note of the skylark cries untiringly
Again I utter a sigh
Who am I?

Fluttering as if standing still, the Yellow-winged Darter dragonfly
Hovers nearby
His wings appear still as if he is hung by a tie
And then whoosh, he is gone in the blink of an eye
Not even wishing me a fond goodbye

The sun beats hot on this day in July
Making the earth feel warm, on the spot where I lie
All is good, as I drink the flask dry
And take another slice from my Apple pie
A busy bee flys by, I bet he never asks
Who am I?
