My walk with nature

I walk upon the green grassy English summer meadow the blue of the sky is splattered with creamy white clouds broken only by a yellow sun.
The colours and sounds of nature are all around me high above a skylark sings her song as she harmonizes with the read warbler’s melody

In the distance, a cuckoo echo’s his cry looking for a nest to borrow and from the corner of my eye I spy a field mouse his whiskers flicking
Breezes tickle the leaves of the mighty oak tree making them giggle with joy, as squirrels and woodpeckers busy themselves on its outstretched branches

My nostrils fill with the perfume of sweet clover and buttercups while sheep and cows sound their voice to neighbouring meadows to comfort and suckle their young

The reflection on the waters of the stream smile at me as a dragonfly hovers, then quickly darting from side to side plays with the movement of the flow
Tiny minnows fight the waters run as they make their way upstream whilst a kingfisher looks on, the natterjack toad crock for a mate and water voles nibble on reeds

Now my walk with nature is nearing to an end, as I climb the stile at the end of the meadow I look back and think how lucky am I to have all these riches that lay before me free and as abundant as the beats of my heart
