I think of you

As I lay in my bed listening to the morning sounds bidding a new dawn
The cloak of night slowly evaporates giving way to the new day
Trees whisper your name as it’s carried on a breeze to be kissed by the new morning’s sun
The distant rumbling Clickety click of the 5.45 stopping train to Victoria echoes around.

And then as if by magic, Mother Nature turns a dial, I see snowdrops and crocus appear, the birds are singing, it looks like springtime is here
The sound of the robin announces his territory to the others that may share his domain
Then all at once a flicker of sunlight makes diamonds from the dew

The yellow crocus opens her wings to greet the warming sun
As the shy snowdrop bows her head amongst the melting snow
And I think of you
